Riccardo Iacopini is a talented young jockey, born in Rome. He began his adventure with horse racing at the age of 12, under the guidance of a successful Italian trainer, Fabrizio Camici, the son of legendary Luigi Camici – the trainer of Arc hero, Tony Bin.
In 2015, Riccardo decided to dedicate himself to horse racing as a professional jockey, and after graduating from the Jockey School in San Rossore in Pisa, he began his apprenticeship at the Endo Botti Galoppo stable. In 2017, he moved back to Roma Capannelle, in order to further his racing career under the guidance of renowned trainers, Luigi di Dio and Sebastiano Guerrieri.
As of October 2020, he has ridden in over 864 races, with 92 wins and over 170 placed on the racetracks of Italy, Denmark, Spain, France and the UAE.
In 2018, Riccardo won the HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Apprentice World Championship race in Spain, and the final race of 2019 in Abu Dhabi, in the saddle of Bainoona trained by Eric Lemartinel, proudly representing the silks of Al Asayl Stables. The Presidential stable has become a base for Riccardo for the 2020/21 season.
Trained by Ibrahim Al Hadrami, Ricardo has started the current season with a victory in Al Ain, riding on Mutaqadim, in the colors of The Royal Cavalry of Oman.
